WOMEN WHO INFLUENCED ME IN 2021

WOMEN WHO INFLUENCED ME IN 2021

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Do you read a book, take a shower, brush your teeth, or drink a cup of coffee? According to a study done by Reviews.org ; Almost 80% of people worldwide admitted checking their phones within the first 10 minutes of waking up. What were the top 3 categories they were checking; Incoming text messages, Incoming emails, and lastly, social media accounts. Today's society relies on social media in a way like no other before. While there are many different opinions on how social media has impacted today's society, there is no doubt that it breeds creativity; and allows people from around the world to share their work. Over the years, I continue to follow more and more accounts that inspire me and teach me new things. In this post, I have compiled a list of women who have influenced me through their social media platforms during 2021 and are worth checking out.

NOTE: This is the last post of 2021, and there will be more to come in the upcoming year. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year.

X,

Janelle Marie

JEN ATKIN Founder of Ouai and Mane Addicts, Jen Atkin, is a major girl boss who is influential in every way. She worked her way up from an NYFW hairstylist to one of the biggest celebrity hairstylists. She is now more than a hairstylist; she is a wife, mother, CEO, founder, and more. She is a great example of someone who worked her ass off and made dreams come true. Her content can usually range from BTS glam sessions with supermodel Kendall Jenner to fun game nights with BFF couple Chrissy Teigan and John Legend. She is highly motivational and creative. Whether it was marble for her new home renovation, a cool vacation spot, or even the color on her nails. If Jen posted about it, you know she loved that product, and without a doubt, I would be purchasing it.

REMI BADER One of my newer follows this year was Remi Bader. She is a size-inclusive content creator who is infamously known for her realistic try-on hauls with Zara, H&M, and Abercrombie brands. I initially followed Remi in the middle of quarantine, but I continued to follow because she was honest and real. She doesn't hide from the camera when she is having a bad day; in fact, she embraces it. On all of her accounts, she makes it known that it is okay not to be okay, which I admire. Straight out of college she started working corporate jobs for major companies such as Bravo Network and Tidal Streaming Services. She has since developed her own path, becoming a full-time content creator. Her posts range from the day in the life Instagram stories to realistic and sometimes goofy get-ready with me/try-on hauls. She is against gatekeeping and if she asks for a recommendation from her followers, she will share a list of all the responses. She even co-runs a foodie Instagram based out of the Hamptons in New York. If you are looking for a laugh, be sure to check her out.

HELLO TEFI Okay, so I know I have been talking about how great everyone on this list is and how if you're not following them, you are missing out on life; however, @HelloTefi has become my official ride or die. I initially found her when she had a YouTube channel show called "Tefi." she discussed pop-culture topics and welcomed Livestream chats from her fans. Her videos were iconic; however, the show was eventually dropped. :( Although the show was dropped, Tefi and her producer, BFF Molly, also known as Schmolly, were determined to get her back up and running, and since then, Tefi has created her own YouTube channel TikTok, and Instagram content. Her content ranges from TikTok rants on pop culture histories such as the relationship between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to red-carpet events for upcoming movies like "The Matrix Resurrections." She is the type of person who feels like your sister, favorite cousin, or BFF. I stan Tefi, and if you ever hear someone yelling on a Brooklyn rooftop about how proud/happy they are for all her success, don't be alarmed. It's probably me!

HANNAH BRONFMAN Hannah Bronfman is one of my more recent follows. I have been watching her YouTube content for a couple of years now, but it was not until 2021 when I followed her on other platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. Hannah is one of those people who gives off cool-girl vibes. She was a longtime DJ and founder/creator of her healthy lifestyle brand HBFIT. She and her husband Brendan welcomed their baby boy Preston in late 2020, and she has since become a cool mom. Her content usually consists of travel content, mom/baby content, home renovation content, workout content, and more. Hannah Bronfman does not shy away from sponsored content, but she is usually honest about her reviews and collaborates with brands she likes. One of the main reasons I continue to follow Hannah is because she rocks some bad-ass outfits, but she is also a big-time investor in many companies. She is vocal about representing her community and isn't shy to be a female dominator in many male-dominated industries. From the stories she shares on her husband Brendan Fallis's YouTube channel, you can tell she has had a very affluent life; however, she is one of the humblest influencers out there.

MARIANA HEWITT I have followed Mariana for years, and she was one of the main people that inspired me to start my blog. When I initially followed her, she wrapped up her entertainment career and branched out into the influencer/creator industry. Her content is extremely satisfying if you like neutral-toned feeds, and her content can range anywhere from OOTD pics at the Louvre to her go-to salmon order at Erewhon. Mariana is co-founder of a great brand called summer Fridays, and she gives awesome recommendations for pretty much everything food, fashion, beauty, or lifestyle-wise.

SIVAN AYLA I started following Sivan Ayla about four years ago. But honestly, if you don't know about her, you are missing out. Sivan is a full-time content creator/founder and CEO of Luxe Unfiltered. She is a wife to her husband Paul, a mother to her adorable kids Capri and Walker, and the most realistic dog mom to her two dogs' Olive and Lila. Sivan BC (before children) content usually consisted of date night get ready with me, glamorous donut-making tutorials, vacations, interior design/renovation content, and overall girl advice. Sivan is like your big sister/best friend. She keeps it real 100%, and if you don't like it, she could care less and suggest you keep it moving and find someone else to follow. Today you can most likely find her posting about cooking in the kitchen, whatever mischief her kids have been up to that day, and her brand Lux Unfiltered. I am obsessed with her recipes and have been known to wait on hour-long lines at Trader Joe's to get some goddess dressing. Whether you are navigating your way through work, relationships, or even trying to find your way through the kitchen, Sivan is a great person to follow.
